We are very proud to say that Dr. Ashley King is the only fellowship-trained, female urologist in the Pensacola area! Following her two-year fellowship at the renowned Cleveland Clinic, Dr. King felt drawn to Woodland’s patient-centered approach and decided to become the newest member of our Urology Division.
Dr. King is looking forward to treating all aspects of urology, with a focus on female pelvic medicine and reconstruction. Some of Dr. King’s specific interests include the medical and surgical treatment of urinary incontinence and other types of voiding dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse repair, complex reconstruction of the lower urinary tract, and management of complications of vaginal and lower urinary tract surgery.
Originally from Richmond, VA, Dr. King holds an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and a medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. After completing her medical degree, Dr. King remained at Virginia Commonwealth University for a surgical internship and urology residency. She then moved to Ohio for a two-year fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery in the Department of Urology at the Cleveland Clinic.
An avid researcher and writer, Dr. King has published extensively in her field – often exploring some of urology’s most complex and debated topics. She is an active member of the American Urologic Association and the Society of Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine and Urogenital Reconstruction.
Dr. King’s family is excited about diving into the sunny Florida lifestyle. In her free time, Dr. King can be found running, reading, and heading to the beach with her husband and three young children.
