Born and raised in Pensacola, Dr. Hillary Hultstrand places great importance on community and relationships. She chose a career in family medicine so she could truly care for her patients – to focus not only on their health, but on their overall well-being. Dr. Hultstrand’s patients praise her accessibility and patient-focused care, whether they’re seeking comfort, healing, or just advice. And, as those patients have come to expect, Dr. Hultstrand enjoys empowering each individual to take ownership of his and her own health through prevention and education.
Triple-majoring at the University of Florida, Dr. Hultstrand earned a B.S. degree in Microbiology, Zoology and Entomology in 1999. She stayed in Gainesville and earned her M.D. from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 2004, graduating in the top 10% of her class. Dr. Hultstrand then completed her residency in Tallahassee, Florida, where she served as Chief Resident at Tallahassee Memorial Family Practice.
Dr. Hultstrand is board certified with the American Board of Family Practice, holds an honorary membership in the Chapman Humanism Society, and is a member of several organizations including the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), the Florida Medical Association (FMA), the Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), and the Escambia County Medical Society (ECMS).
Dr. Hultstrand and her husband moved back to Pensacola, largely so that their two children could grow up surrounded by extended family – and, she’ll tell you, our beaches are a nice bonus. Outside of family time, Dr. Hultstrand stays busy playing volleyball, kickball and golf, and she is currently trying her hand at photography.
